An online company that provides up-to-date fishing reports, fly fishing patterns, online training, tutorials, and workshops, was looking to consolidate their ecommerce shopping cart, membership system, and web site, all onto a single platform to save money by avoiding all of the individual fees that all three services had.

After analyzing all of the requirements, it was determined that Drupal + Ubercart for e-commerce could accomplish the task.  The website already had an existing HTML site design, so part of the tasks were to convert the current static HTML to a template-ready theme to use with Drupal.

Here are some of the features of the web site:

  • Allowing purchase of online training videos
  • Controlled access to digital content to paying subscribers
  • Automatic handling and renewal of paid memberships via online payment gateway
  • Discounts on physical goods for paying subscribers
  • Administrators can distribute gift certificates to members all online
  • All configuraton is done online, from adding Catalog categories, to adding/modifying products
  • Invoices are sent via email and also viewable in Administrative section
  • Customers have access to Order status and Invoices through their account on the site
